Skin treatment against oily, combination skin and acne for Kapha dosha
If your dominant dosha is Kapha you should use products that purify and detoxify your skin. Because Kapha skin is generally oily and thick, look for ingredients such as enzymes and light texture moisturisers to maintain hydration and also keep your skin clear of congestion.
Even oily skin needs oils! Don't be mistaken and think oily and congested skin is not suitable for oil based products. Pure plant oils, such as hemp seed oil are ideal for Kapha skin. Thicker skin generally ages much better than a thinner skin.
To manage oily and combination skin, we have three different collections to choose from. If you have very oily skin and suffer from repeated or severe congestion, breakouts and acne we recommend the Oily & Combination Skin Ultimate collection which will deliver fastest and best results. For less significant symptoms of oily skin you could consider the Oily & Combination Skin Advanced collection. If you are not quite sure where to begin, the Oily & Combination Skin Starter collection is worth a try.

What are Kapha people like?
If your main dosha is Kapha you are likely to be caring, loyal and have clear, slow speech.
Kapha consists of the element earth and water and is characterised by qualities such as oily, cold, heavy and slow. These qualities translate into things like, smooth soft skin, dislike for exercise, prefer warm conditions, prone to crave sweet and fatty foods.

Imbalanced or aggrevated Kapha
When Kapha is imbalanced this can affect different parts of the body and mind. Kapha increases by eating inappropriate foods (too much heavy food, oily foods), being exposed to cold, wet conditions and by being sedentary.
When kapha is aggravated you may become lethargic, gain weight and become overly sentimental. Digestion will be decreased. As Ayurveda believes all disease is the result of digestion, it is very important to gain control of foods and lifestyle practices which alleviate Kapha.
