Meet Rakhee Dodhia - Owner of Sacred Space Healing

Located on Sydney’s northern beaches in Bilgola, Sacred Space Healing is a sanctuary where people come to balance, restore and heal. Rakhee is the owner of Sacred Space Healing and offers something a little different!

Rakhee uses AWE Cosmeceuticals in her facial treatments and incorporates the kansa wand into all of her rituals.

Rebecca: Firstly, how did you get into natural health and beauty?

Rakhee: I am of Indian background so I did grow up learning about regular foods in the pantry for treating colds and flus and using them for overall health and wellness. My work is greatly influenced by my heritage and infused with the wisdom of its teachings, whilst at the same time supported by a solid foundation of Western learnings.

I started practising natural therapies about 12 years ago after studying a Diploma of Remedial Massage. I have had my own practice on Sydney’s northern beaches for the last six years.

Rebecca: What types of treatments do you offer your clients?

Rakhee: I offer a body ritual and a facial ritual.

 The body ritual is a fusion of massage, sound and healing techniques drawing from my experience of both Eastern and Western practices. The ritual melds remedial massage, hot stone therapy, acupressure, Ayurveda, chakra balancing and Reiki to bring your being back into balance, restoring and renewing your prana (life force):

• Remedial massage to relieve muscular dysfunction
  
• Hot stone therapy to calm & restore the nervous system, activate the lymphatic system & enhance circulation
  
• Acupressure to  clear blockages along the meridian lines, promote the flow of Qi & allow an immediate & deep state of relaxation
  
• Ayurveda to balance the dominance of your dosha creating wellness from the inside out
  
• Chakra balancing to realign  vital energy centres
  
• Reiki to channel energy & rebalance the mental, physical, emotional & spiritual bodies

The facial ritual is a sequence of timeless techniques drawn from the wisdom of the natural healing traditions, it is a sensory journey of deep relaxation. The treatment will incorporate the use of the Ayurvedic kansa wand, made from the healing bronze of India, which activates the marma points, reducing stress, calming the mind and balancing the energies.

• The Vata Facial Ritual will focus on deeply hydrating & re-mineralising the skin, stimulating cell renewal with warming & nourishing Ayurvedic herbs such as ginger, cumin & black pepper. The treatment will increase the skin's firmness & elasticity, diminishing the appearance of fine lines and restoring a youthful glow. 

• The Kapha Facial Ritual will focus on drawing out impurities to purify the skin, assisting in eliminating congestion whilst managing excessive oiliness. Incorporating stimulating Ayurvedic herbs & plants such as cinnamon, rosemary & turmeric, the treatment will leave your skin feeling clear, fresh & smooth.

• The Pitta Facial Ritual will focus on calming & pacifying the skin using gently cooling Ayurvedic herbs such as sandalwood, coriander & cardamom.  As the skin is soothed & the redness reduced, the active ingredients will help to repair & strengthen the delicate skin barrier

Rebecca: They sound absolutely sublime! How have you found incorporating the kansa wand into your rituals?

Rakhee: I use the kansa wand in all of facials. It is a deeply relaxing experience and I have had nothing but positive feedback from my clients. I actually feel them drop into a deeper state of relaxation, and if there was any talking before, this is definitely the time it stops.
